 I grade conservatively with these standards:

Sealed (SS): Vinyl is presumed Mint and any defects on the cover will be mentioned in the description.

Mint: If the album is not sealed, then the vinyl must look truely unplayed for this grade. I will not use this grade very often.

NM: The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The cover may have very minor signs of wear or impressions, barely noticable.

NM-: The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, and there may be a minor scratch that does not effect play. Cover has slightly more wear than NM.

VG++: Some very minor visible surface wear, a few very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster. Cover has very slight shelf wear(almost unnoticable).

VG+: The difference between this and a VG++ record is the amount of scuffs and light scratches. Vinyl will still have good luster and play well. Cover is clean but may have minor writing or marks and may show slight wear.

VG: Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. There will be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish, but usually some luster will still be present. Covers are worn and used. Seams may be starting to split or may have been repaired with clear tape. There is moderate ringwear, but the artwork is still attractive.

G: I don't ever really sell anything in this condition unless it is an extremely rare record that is near impossible to find. Well-played, dull vinyl with deep scratches. I will usually describe the defects and severity in the description. Covers may have seam splits, writing, ring wear, damaged corners, tears, cuts, heavy tape, and possibly some other defects. Filler for your collection until another copy comes along.
