Description

  • "Cowman's Prayer" b/w "The Cowboy" by Texas cowboy singer Carl T. Sprague. Sprague was an actual working cowboy, who studied John Lomax's book on cowboy ballads and made some of the earliest examples of recorded traditional cowboy songs. This is one of his later recordings, cut in Savannah, Georgia on August 24, 1927. Issued on Victor 21402. Condition is E. Stickers on labels. Beautiful renditions, accompanied by twin fiddles and Sprague's guitar.
