Description

The Mothers Of Invention "We're Only In It For The Money"

This is a US vinyl pressing on Verve V6-5045 from 1968.    This includes the original cut out sheet.    This is an original second pressing with the censored version of 'Who Needs The Peace Corps'.    During this song you DO NOT hear : 'I will love the police as they kick the shit out of me on the streets'.

This album has the famous Sgt. Pepper's take-off cover.     The front of this gatefold has a picture of the whole group with a yellow background.    The left inside gatefold has the lyrics to all the songs with the band in the background with all the member turned around and one facing forward.    The right inside gatefold has the name 'Mothers' spelled out in vegetables, and the band in costumes with famous people in the background.    All of this is a take off on The Beatles album 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.   It also comes with a 11 x 11 sheet of cutouts, just like Sgt. Peppers'.

The songs are :  Are You Hung Up, Who Needs The Peace Corps, Concentration Moon, Mom & Dad, Bow Tie Daddy, Harry You're A Beast, What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body, Absolutely Free, Hot Poop, Nasal Retentive Caliope Music, Let's Make The Water Turn Black, The Idiot Bastard Son, Lonely Little Girl, Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance, What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body (Reprise), Mother People, and The Chrome Plated Megaphone Of Destiny.

Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ /  Record is M

The gatefold cover is VG+ with no ring wear, no writing , and no seam splits.   There is light overall cover wear and some seam wear.    The vinyl looks mint and it plays mint.    The labels are clean with no spindle marks.    The cut out sheet is near mint.    The record comes in a Verve inner sleeve.

About Me :

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.   ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! )       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.

Postage :  Weight : 1 pound 8 ounces

You have to pay for the postage.     I pre-weigh every record, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are no handling charges.     This record will weigh 24 ounces ( 1 pound, 8 ounces ) when ready to ship.   US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    All US winners will get shipping through Paypal and an automatic email with the tracking number.      Overseas bidders must use First Class Mail International.    You will get an automatic email with the customs/tracking number.     I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM : Monday thru Saturday)   I will combine shipping if you win more than one record.      Please wait for me to send you an invoice for all of your records in one package.

Serious Bidders Only :

Serious bidders only.    If you bid you must be prepared to honor your bid.     I expect payment within three days, but will wait up to seven days, if you contact me.      I no longer accept bids from buyers with more than two strikes against them.
