Description
This is Charles Mingus Records JWS001-002, Charles Mingus - Mingus At Monterey, a black, deep groove label, numbered (on the label of side 1A), private mail order issue of this iconic record. This is the mail-order issue, with the instructions for ordering printed on the back cover. The records are in near mint condition showing almost no signs of wear. There is one small pressing flaw visible on side 1A which does not effect the play. The records play quietly throughout. The gate-fold cover shows light ring wear and a small loss on the upper left fold (see photo). The labels are excellent and show no spindle marks, but there is a circular stain on side 2B. The label on side 1A has the white circle with 650 handwritten in marker. This is an excellent, collector's grade copy of this classic original issue. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple orders. Thanks for looking.
