Description
Chet Baker & Art Pepper “Playboys” 1958 first pressing, deep-groove label World Pacific Records (# PJ 1234 mono) in a cardboard sleeve. Indicator of 1st pressing is that the artists are credited on the front cover, yet the label has it as “Chet Baker-Art Pepper Sextet” and the back cover as “The Chet Baker & Art Pepper Sextet”. The record grading is Excellent (EX). It’s extremely clean for its age and plays just as well with minimal background noise at all. There are no visible surface marks which is rare for any album of this age. The following is on the runout groove:

The outer case is Good Plus (G+). The front cover is very clean - vibrant & smooth with minimal age wear and just a minor mark under the “P” on the top left side. The back cover is also very clean & smooth with a “tape” mark on the bottom left-hand side and a little mark at the top. The primary reason for the grade is that the top seam is entirely split. The spine has no splits, but has wear & dings. The bottom seam is split ~3” at the opening and maybe an inch at the spine. That said, the cover is sturdy and is almost deserving of a “VG” grade due to the quality of both of the covers. (all reflected in the photos) All sales final.
NOTE: This album will ship with the inner sleeve & record OUTSIDE of the cover as to prevent any possible seam damage to the cover during shipment. Both the album cover and the inner sleeve & vinyl will be contained within a plastic protective sleeve inside of the shipping box with padding on top & bottom. This item will also be insured for the full sale value at my cost.
