CHRISTIAN CLOZIER
QUASARS
1981
LE CHANT DU MONDE LDX 78714
MUSIQUE FRANÇAISE d'AUJOURD 'HUI
Clozier's most accomplished and esoteric electronic opus after his groundbreaking double act with Jacques Lejeune on their 1970 outing Lettre À Une Demoiselle featuring one of the earliest drum and bass loops ever. Here Clozier comes correct with twisted solar sound waves drifting beside mercurial electronic effects derived from his hand built studio machines. Nestling somewhere between Jean Jacque Perrey's more dense funk, Juan Atkin's triple shot amphetamine stabs then shot through Ruth White's Flowers of Evil this is intelligent and dirty electronica for the mind. Featuring incredible photographic art work of vintage studio set ups, banks of electrical masts and children experimenting with the array of analogue recording equipment it's a beautiful package of sound and eye candy.
