More Encores
Artist(s): Christian Marclay
No Man's Land, nml 8816, 1988. 10", 33 rpm.
An amazing assault on the listener and the concept of recorded music. All joyfully confined to 10 inches of black wax. Christian Marclay proves his mastery of the turntable both physically and conceptually.
Also!! With this LP I am including an exhibition booklet featuring pictures of Marclays scultures/installations. This is from his "Footsteps" exhibition at the Shedhalle Gallery in Zurich. Dates from a year after the LP was released, 1989, and includes text by Harm Lux and Dennis Cooper. In English, French, and German. Book is bumped around the edges but internally clean and tight. VERY RARE!!

The following is from the liner notes on the back of the record.
"Each piece is composed entirely of records by the artist after whom it is titled. "John Cage" is a recording of a collage made by cutting slices from several records and gluing them back into a single disc. In all other pieces the records were mixed and manipulated on multiple turntables and recorded analog with the use of overdubbing. A hand-crank gramophone was used in "Louis Armstrong""
Glossy vinyl looks and plays like new. Cover has minor corner bumping, otherwise clean and tight with no marks.
