Description
This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.
UK pressing Columbia 33CX 1165, Brahms Concerto in D Major, Op. 77 for Violin and Orchestra performed by Johanna Martzy and the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Paul Kletzki. Blue and Gold and sleeve is a scalloped flip back, laminated front and back, spine is pinched top and bottom. The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are XAX 524-3N and XAX 525-3N. RT tax code is stamped on side 1. SALVAGE is stamped on side 2. I have read somewhere that the salvage stamp can mean that it was part of fire, flood or other type of damaged stock disposal.
Grading
Grade vinyl as Excellent both visually and playing. There are a couple of very faint marks and hairline on both sides. There is no spider marks around the spindle hole. It plays with no skips or jumps however there some crackle in places. The sleeve is VG+, some creasing and marks. There is ring wear and a small tear on top flip back (see photo). Inner sleeve is polythene.
Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
