Description

Coxon's Army Live From Sam Miller Exchange Cafe LP from 1974.  Sam Miller Exchange Cafe purple label.  One of the earliest recordings of Pat Benatar from Richmond, VA area when she was working as a bank teller and singing with the band at night.  Autographed by Phil Coxon on liner:  "To Sue- Hope you enjoy the album- Thanks for your support Phil Coxon 1/10/75".  If only he had let Pat sign it, no such luck though.  The album consists of live recordings for a TV special that never aired.  She sings lead on:  Can't Help Lovin' That Man, Respect, and If He Walked Into My Life.  Also can be heard backup in at least one other song.  The vinyl is glossy with scuffs and scratches but plays very nicely.  I heard about 6-8 clicks on the first song of side one and then there is some popcorn between songs and some quiet passages.  I believe most of this if not all will go away with a proper cleaning and the record will play better than I grade it here.  The labels are in excellent shape, clean and no writing or dirt, slight chipping around the spindle hole.  I am calling it VG.  The cover looks very nice with some edgewear and corner bumps.  There is a split starting on the top over an inch long.  VG+.  Story is these did not sell well and Pat supposedly bought a lot of them up and got rid of them when she got her first contract.  True or not I don't know, that is what I read.   As rare as these are I see a number are coming out, shows the times are getting tough.
