Day Group Foil Gatefold Sleeve Is In VG+ Condition, the company inners are in VG+ condition & the Records are in VG+ Condition. The third Cream album with great tracks including; 'White Room & Crossroads'. With the matt red Polydor Labels & the 583031 Catalogue Number on the sleeve & on the Labels. Description
Original UK Polydor red labels double mono LP.This is the third album by Cream released in August 1968, with studio tracks recorded during July & August 1967 and finally completed in June 1968. The live tracks were performed at the Winterland & Fillmore Theaters in San Francisco in March 1968 during their US tour. The live tracks not used on 'Wheels Of Fire' would later be released as Live Cream Vols. I & II. The band had already announced their split in May and again in July and by their final concert in November 1968, it had become their best selling LP.
With the earliest matt red grooved Polydor labels, the 582031 sleeve catalogue number, with the earliest A-1 B-1 A-1 B-1 matrices and the 1-1-/1- mother stampers of the very first mono presses. The Ernest J. Day Group foil gatefold sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some light edge/corner wear & light storage rubbing/creasing on the foil outer cover, with some light rubbing on the inner cover. The spine is intact, slightly worn and fully readable, and the plain company inners are intact, but discoloured and in VG+ condition. The records are in visually in VG+ condition, sides 1 & 2 have a couple of faint hairlines & one or two light needle marks and sides 3 & 4 have a few more sleeve removal hairlines & a couple of light needle marks visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of light spindle markings and pressing faults on sides 1 & 2 and a couple of spindle markings on sides 3 & 4. The sound reproduction is still EX, clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief low background noise during the run in grooves, and briefly in a couple of the quieter passages, overall still a really great, clear and loud listen which plays really well. The matrix nos. are; 583031, A//1-420 mother stamper 1-, B//1-420 mother stamper 1-1-, A//1-420 mother stamper 1-, B//1-420 mother stamper 1-1-. This is one of the earliest 1st pressings of the original 1968 UK mono 1st issue of this album!
