Rare 1980 UK vinyl 45 demo 12" single in picture sleeve, by Cristina. The A side features 'Is That All There Is'. The B side has 'Jungle Love'. Produced by August Darnell. When Peggy Lee first released this song she sang of falling in love for the first time and her father taking her to the circus. But when Cristina recorded an uptempo version in 1980 she sang instead of going to her first disco in NY where 'boys with dyed hair and spandex T Shirts were dancing with each other', and of her boyfriend who 'beat me black and blue'! It was not how Leiber & Stoller, the writers of the song, had intended it to be changed, surely they also disapproved of lines like 'why doesn't she just slit her throat and shut up' and 'Let's break out the lubes and have a ball'! So Leiber & Stoller didn't allow her to release it, and only a handful of copies were pressed in the UK and sent out to radio stations. That's why this 45 is so hard to find and much sort after.
