Description
For sale is a rare and very playable 1st U.K. press copy of David Bowie’s self titled second album (later rebranded as SPACE ODDITY) on the Philips label.
Despite the success of the single Space Oddity, the album did not bother the charts and sold relatively few copies, hence the difficulty in getting hold of reasonable copies today.
The notoriously fragile unlaminated gatefold sleeve is at least VG condition - whilst there is edge and spine wear and some fading it is intact with no tears.
Visually the album is an easy VG+. It is in bright, glossy condition - there are some light scuffs and hairlines but no feelable scratches. The labels are very clean and bright with no writing.
Sonically the majority of the record is excellent. There are a few light pops in places and just some light crackles in the quieter moments.
Overall this is a lovely copy of a rare, original 50 year old LP.
