Description
DAVID BOWIE - THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD
Recorded at Trident Studio's London in April 1970, this is the original American 1st pressing released in November 1970 a full 6 months before it's UK release of April 1971. The cover artwork designed by Mike Weller, a friend of Bowie's from the Beckenham art's lab days echoes the pop art style of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, titled "Metrobolist" (after Fritz Lang's Metropolis) it depicts Cane Hill Hospital where Bowie's half brother Terry lived, featuring a gloomy rendition of Cane Hill's main entrance with a shattered clock tower and a cowboy with an exploding head (Bowie's suggestion). Weller had used the exploding head design for posters to promote the art's lab.
Superb opportunity to obtain this classic Bowie album in it's original American 1st press format.
