DEEP PURPLE
“IN ROCK”
MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original very first STEREO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1980 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales ODEON S.A. (Odeon Records), licensed from EMI Records Ltd., catalog number 6007, with hand etched matrix numbers SHVL-777 A 1. 1 in Side A and SHVL 777 B 1 in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile and with 1/1 STAMPERS!!! And what a SUPERB CONDITION!!!
“IN ROCK” was originally released in 1970 but we have to wait until 1980 (!!!) to see this great record released here in Chile and we got it like many cases of that period with an UNIQUE COVER, a real laminated gatefold cover made with 3 single pieces of cardboard, one of them for front and back cover, the other for the left non-laminated inner cover and the other for the right non-laminated inner cover, with outer cover pasted on the flips of both pieces of inner covers, with the mouth edge inside. Front, back and inner covers keep the original UK artwork with album title written in English only, the tracklist and lyrics in left inner cover written in English only, with sides identified “Side One” and “Side Two” and in right inner cover the tracklist written in Spanish, translated to Engliosh, with full credits for songwriters and all the other text written in Spanish only, with text “Fabricado Y Distribuido por EMI Odeon Chilena S.A. Santiago - Chile” (Made And Distributed By…). In labels the album title is written in English only and the tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to English, with sides identified “A” and “B” only. It’s interesting to notice that in this Chilean press it’s not informed the year this record was released in Chile, it’s only informed the original year, 1970, so I’ve seen this record offered before in eBay with the year “1970”, but that’s not true, this record was released in Chile in 1980. And you can also see an error in this Chilean issue, the song “Bloodsucker”, correctly written in cover it’s misspelled “BLOOD SUCKER” in label!!! Yes Sirs, AMAZING FIND from Chile again with UNIQUE COVER, 1/1 STAMPERS and UNIQUE ERROR!!! WOW!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in VG- or VG condition, clean and clear, no missing parts, light ring marks, no writings, minimal creases, general wear in all edges, more evident in corners, but complete and solid with no seam splits, with marks of humidity, about 1 inch unglued in the mouth edge at top edge and a bit smelly when you open it. The record is in superb VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy, clean and clear, but with many scuffs, light hairlines and very soft scratches hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in EX+ or NM- condition, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear, the time of Side A written at right side and a mark in the spindle hole in Side B. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, clear, clean and loud, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), with some constant soft crackles and very light occasional pops here and there, more evident in the silent parts and between the tracks, which don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, maybe this record could not to be for Minty minds or audiophiles but you already know that Chilean issues of “In Rock” are almost impossible to see, it’s a MEGARARE record with an UNIQUE GATEFOLD COVER which’s a real rarity and this time you have the chance to get a great copy with still a nice clean cover, a glossy look of the record and more than decent and respectable sound quality after 35 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind the UNIQUE ERROR!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
