Description

I have been collecting records for decades and the time has come for some of them to find a new home. Most will be in excellent condition, some have been in my family for years and remain unplayed. I will grade them all fairly and listen to most before listing.

All of them will be professionally cleaned before being sent.

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions if you have any. Thanks very much for looking !

Up for auction here is a Rare early Uk pressing of the classic Deep Purple album Machine Head . This was released in the Uk on Purple Records in 1972 Catalogue number TPSA 7504. This has been in my family since release and until I play tested I am not sure it has ever been played .This is a very early pressing and is in absolutely superb condition throughout.

It has the matrix numbers TPSA 7504 A1U on side 1 with stampers 1 GMP

On side 2 it is TPSA 7504 B1U with a 2 G HP stamper

The vinyl is in superb condition and looks like it has never been played. I can’t find any fault with it and I would think there are not many better copies about.

I will grade it as Near Mint.

I have listened to the vinyl at high volume and it plays through as well as it looks. There are no skips , jumps, clicks or ticks . There is some very light background crackle which is to be expected but overall it is a brilliant listen . I will grade the audio as Excellent ++. An absolute barnstorming listen.

The labels are in Near mint with no spindle marks etc.

The original laminated Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is in Excellent + condition. It has some very light signs of wear and light creasing but overall an excellent example.

The record comes with its original Lyric poster which is excellent .

Overall a brilliant copy of this classic.

All of my records will be sent well packed so they arrive as intended. Depending on the value they will be sent insured and tracked delivery.

I use Record Collector ratings to grade my vinyl. These are :

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc..

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
