MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original first STEREO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1976 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales ODEON S.A. (Odeon Records), licensed from Deep Purple Overseas Ltd., catalog number SLDC-35349/50, with hand etched matrix numbers in first record TPS 3511 A SH 5 in Side A, TPS 3511 B SH 5 in Side B, and in second record TPS 3512 A SH 10 in Side A and TPS 3512 B SH 5 in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile!!! And what a nice condition!!!

“MADE IN JAPAN” was originally released in 1972 but we have to wait in Chile until 1976 to see this masterpiece live album released here and like many cases of that period we got it with and UNIQUE COVER, a gatefold cover made with 3 single pieces of cardboard, one of them for front and back cover, the other for the left non-laminated inner cover and the other for the right non-laminated inner cover, with the single pieces of inner covers on the flips with inner mouth for both records. That’s the “normal” kind of cover used in Chile but this time I found the rarer kind of cover with the mouth at right edge!!! The cover keeps strictly the original artwork with title and tracklist written in English only in both the outer and inner covers, with the only difference that at the bottom of back and right inner cover it’s written in Spanish “Marca Registrada. Fabricado Y Distribuido por Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. Santiago – Chile. (P) 1976 En Chile” (Trademark. Made And Distributed By…), with catalog number at top right corner of back cover “SLDC-35349/50 Stereo (2 LP 12)”. In labels the album title is only “DEEP PURPLE” and the tracklist is written in English only, with full credits for songwriters. Yes Sirs, AMAZING FIND!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG- or VG condition both the front and back cover, clean and clear, with minimal ring marks in outer covers, general wear in all edges, more evident in corners and severe wear in the mouth edge, with creases, little rips and lamination peeling, some faint blemishes and a name written in the inside cover, the most important “fault” is the seam splits at bottom and part of the top edges, but those splits weren’t caused by the records, they were intentionally cut to “open” the mouth edges and let the records getting in and out, for some reason the flips were factory incorrectly glued, the splits could easily be repaired but I will keep them like it is so you can see the “problem” with your own eyes, but anyway the cover still keeps solid and complete. The records are in nice VG- or VG condition both records, glossy, clean and clear, but with many scuffs, hairlines and soft scratches of all sizes and directions, which prove these records were played a lot but which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in absolute EX or EX+ condition all sides, clear and clean, with only light spindle hole wear and slight age browning in the white “P”. The sound is in strong VG+ or EX- condition all sides, clear, clean and loud, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), with some light constant crackles in parts and some very light occasional pops here and there, more evident in the silent parts, which don’t cause major distraction from the great sound these records keep from the beginning to the end. Overall, sure this double album could not to be for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure a MEGARARE record like this, with an UNIQUE GATEFOLD COVER, with records still in a great shape, clean labels and superb sound quality after almost 40 years and so many plays is A MUST TO HAVE and won’t disappoint anyone!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for.
