DEL SHANNON

SIDE A:     FUGITIVA

                  (Runaway)

SIDE B:     JODY

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original London “ffrr” Records very first Mono press released in Chile by London Records in 1961, licensed from London Records Inc., USA, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number DLM 17040, with machine etched matrix numbers 45-MSCE-5096-2 RP 1SN (“1SN” inverted) in Side A and 45-MSCE-5097-2 RP 1SN (“1SN” inverted) in Side B. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE for all early rock’n’roll lovers, fans and collectors!!!

This single was originally released in February 1961 in USA and it became almost an immediate hit (even though some references say it was released in 1960) and the same year we got it here in Chile licensed from London Records. This is something a bit “rare”, because it means this record was released through an UK company, but in both labels it’s informed, in English, “Recorded by “Big Top” New York”. In labels the song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and the price, E°1,26, printed in Side A. So, here you have the chance to own this MEGARARE single of Del Shannon, one of the biggest rock’n’roll classics of all times, with UNIQUE GREEN LONDON RECORDS LABELS, Spanish-written song titles and from the same year it was originally released, 1961!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean but with loads of light scuffs, hairlines and very soft scratches of all sizes, which incredibly don’t affect play. Labels are in VG+ or EX- condition in both sides, clear and clean, with some general wear, some little tears, more evident in the large spindle hole and as you can see the push-out center was removed. The sound is in strong VG+ or EX- condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with only soft crackles, and in VG or VG+ condition the Side B, loud, clear and clean, with soft crackles and some occasional clicks, here and there, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record with GREEN LONDON RECORDS LABELS, Spanish-written song titles and from 1961, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a nice look and still amazing sound quality after about 59 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.

If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
