CARAVAN MARCH / DANSE DE LA NUBIENNE ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by DERBOUKAS. Original French pressing on the BAGATELLE label (B 370 928 F), from 1968. Desirable, psychedelic lounge cum middle eastern jazz double-sider. For us, this is legendary Vai Vai composer and pianist, Jean-Pierre Sabar with crack studio session men but nobody seems to know for sure. Derboukas were the same group of musicians behind the Camel Bossa / Kif Kif single too. Super-infectious and exotic French pop on CARAVAN MARCH featuring lots of groovy bowed cello / psych strings / electric piano and Arabic percussion. Definite, swinging London influences so imagine The Andrew Oldham Orchestra in Morocco. DANSE DE LA NUBIENNE is an orchestrated Arabian jerk with mystical folk flute / big bassline and funky Derbouka drum breaks and beats. Great for DJs. Seldom comes up for sale. Casbah nightclub belly dancer artwork sleeve. Very rare 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in strong VG+ condition with some light scuffs and hairlines. Booming production sound. Some light surface noises. The soft card picture sleeve is in VG++ condition with very light corner / edge wear. Some creasing and dirt marks from storage. Very rare 45!!!
