Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of Destruction 1985 "Infernal Overkill" album  on the Steam Hammer labels pressed on the original Black vinyl. This album was pre- ordered purchased from new and originally only ever played a few times and then to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records!! Features the earliest possible -A and -B Machine Stamped Matrix endings  (Only 1st press)!   This album is complete with the original and beautiful 1st issue un- laminatred cover in top condition!! The audio is truly stunning through out! The audio is graded at Near as Mint in my opinion!  No loud constant clicks or pops! So rich and vibrant throughout! Looks and sounds like it has barely been played at all in my opinion!  This is complete with the original picture inner record sleeve in superb condition rarely seen complete like this!

Destruction is a German thrash metal band. They are considered one of the "Big 4" of the German thrash metal scene, the others being Kreator, Sodom and Tankard.







Along with Venom (UK), Bathory (Sweden) and Celtic Frost (Switzerland), three of those four German bands (Tankard being the exception) are often credited with helping pioneer black metal, by containing several elements of what was to become the genre.







Destruction was originally named Knight of Demon, but changed their name in 1984. For most of the 1990s, Destruction was not signed to a record label and was forced to self-produce their albums until they signed a contract with Nuclear Blast in the early 2000






Inspired by Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Motörhead and Venom, Destruction were formed as Knight of Demon in 1982.







The original line-up featured vocalist and bassist Schmier, drummer Tommy Sandmann, and guitarist Mike Sifringer.




They soon changed their name to Destruction and released a demo titled Bestial Invasion of Hell in 1984. After this the group signed with Steamhammer Records and released an EP titled Sentence of Death later that year.





Destruction released their first full-length album titled Infernal Overkill in 1985, followed by Eternal Devastation in 1986.




The trio then added a second guitarist, Harry Wilkens, and released the EP Mad Butcher in 1987, followed by the full-length album Release from Agony (also released in 1987), then a live recording Live Without Sense in 1989, and Cracked Brain in 1990.





In 1989, before the recording sessions of Cracked Brain began, Schmier left the band, and was replaced by Poltergeist frontman André Grieder. Mike Sifringer continued to release albums under the moniker of "Neo-Destruction".

The Vinyl
On initial visual inspection the vinyl looks absolutely superb, and I can't see or feel any scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops at all! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be light whypsy surface scuffs and sleeve removal type only.. ,  This lays perfectly flat on the turntable and are free from any warping. (Note! I have double checked this) The vinyl looks superb, still retaining its original glossy sheen from new.  (no) deep needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops at all!

The Audio Quality
I have played the vinyl prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume! The audio is superbe cristal clear and very vibrant throughout! Top audio seperation on all frequencies only heard like this on early original 1st pressings! Note! This is the best sounding copy that I have heard,, so vibrant and clear, you will not find a better sounding album!  Importantly there were no loud constant clicks/ticks, pops or any jumps truly awesome and very rare for a 1st pressing. The audio is graded at Near as Mint in my opinion!

PLEASE NOTE! I always add this disclaimer! I have played this album prior to listing as usual and have given my honest opinion on the audio quality. Please remember this is a 33 years old original vinyl (not a reissue) Please allow for the odd interference/static/crackle/tick but importantly nothing consistant through out the audio! Please remember  that this would have been originally played on a system that is 33 years old!
All indications i.e. that this vinyl has (not) been overplayed and in fact looks barely ever played, in my opinion and the audio quality superbe on all frequencies.
 
The labels
This features the "Steam Hammer" labels. These are superbe I can just barely see a handful of spider traces on the labels, (even when angled to the light) and little if (no) spindle ware! Note: Side 1 labels are wrinkled as seen in the photos and was like this from new.

The Record Sleeve
This is the original printed pictured/lyric paper sleeve. No splits or tears. Superb for 31 years old like this! Light creasing with age only.  The vinyl is now and has always been stored seperately from the sleeve. Note This is the original!

The cover
The original 1st issue un-laminated cover  cover is absolutely superbe!  Rarely seen in decent top condition like this one.  There are (no) edge splits or tears.   The spine is generally lovely and  square   A truly superbe example rarely seen like this.!  Super glossy  No rubbing or ring wear worth to mention. No real nasty or bad creases at all, Note: Light and minor crease lines at the edges and at the spine/edges are only really noticed if looked for in my opinion.  Any other imperfections/scuffs/edge rubbing wear etc , are not noticed unless looked for in my opinion. This is strong and straight. Must be at least excellent plus to Near Mint  in my opinion rarely ever seen like this after 33 years!
