DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON DGG SLPM 138 002, 003 RED STEREO TITLE SLEEVE LARGE TULIPS RECORD LABEL GERMAN PRODUCTION VINYL LP LINEN BOX SET WITH BOOKLET
Bidders may notice that the following grading description is very similar to many other similar 1950’s classical LPs I currently have listed or am going to be listing over the next few weeks. This is due to the almost identical, practically ‘archive’ condition of the entire collection. Do check out my other listings if these are of interest. I am adding records every day.
Box Condition: MINT: astonishingly well preserved, linen box with a total absence of the usual wear and rubbing. Corners are sharp and free from bumping, lid is perfectly tight and flat spine. The accompanying 16 page booklet is also in MINT, unread condition as are the inner sleeves. This copy still has the thin, tissue guard to prevent the booklet being rubbed by the sleeved records.
Record Condition: NEAR MINT: Both records are flawless. However, record 1 is slightly dished. This does not affect tracking or reproduction in any way. Very occasional light surface crackle at start of each side. I’m probably overstating the case and being very picky, the LPs look unplayed and sound reproduction is loud, clear and free from any kind of distortion or mistracking. A lovely set.
Please be aware that the quoted shipping for the UK is inadequate for this heavy box with booklet and two heavy vinyl LPs, well over a kilo when packed. Shipping will actually be £7.95. Please wait for me to send an invoice for this item. This is only one of many similar LPs I have currently listed or will shortly be listing. They are all from a small collection of early classical Decca SXL and EMI ASD Stereo and some Mono LXT and CSD LPs. All are in the most extraordinary, Near Mint condition. It would not be an exaggeration to describe the entire collection as in, ‘archive’ condition. In 25 years of record dealing and over 40 years of collecting myself, I have never come across records so perfectly cared for is almost perfectly preserved inner and outer sleeves.
