Description
DIE LAUGHING You Got The Power / Hard Living Man – 7" vinyl single release on Ocean Records from 1980 (OC003 / EJSP9411).
You are bidding for an original UK pressing of this great and obscure single recorded by Hastings trio Die Laughing. This single, which was the bands sole offering, presents two excellent examples of NWOBHM, released at the height of the genres explosion.
Visually this copy has a numerous light surface marks visible under a good light and there are also a small spot (dust) in the pressing.
Playing the single reveals some light background noise during the run in and out of each side. The dust spot causes a faint pop for several revolutions each side - but nothing intrusive enough to really spoil the listening experience and obviously this flaw has been in the pressing from new. Overall the single plays well, and I would give it a Vg grading.
The labels are in great condition with only light spindle marking.
The cartoon picture sleeve completes the package. This has some evidence of wear along the opening where the record is inserted, and some ringwear / soiling (see photo). This copy is unusual in that although the sleeve is totally genuine (I have seen several copies over the years), it is not printed with the track titles on the reverse, presumably just a mistake at the printers with a batch of sleeves.
Overall I would grade this great NWOBHM single as Vg/Vg (Vinyl / Sleeve).
