DESCRIPTION

Dire Straits - “Alchemy Dire Straits Live” Warner Bros. Records W1-25085 (Stereo) from 1984. Hard to Find Original 1974 CRC Columbia Record Club version of this great Classic / AOR / Arena Rock Live Double album from Dire Straits featuring Mark Knopfler John Illsley, Alan Clark, Hal Lindes and Terry Williams with help from Tommy Mandel, Mel Colins and Joop De Korte. Recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 22–23 July 1983, the album features the band's best known songs from their first four albums, along with tracks from the "ExtendeDancEPlay" EP and the "Local Hero" soundtrack by Mark Knopfler. Many of the songs have reworked arrangements and extended improvisational segments. In the Original Gatefold Cover with NO Cutouts or Promo markings. On the Off White WB “Ghost” labels with no stripes or text around the edge of the label. This is an Original Carrollton, GA Pressing as indicated by the “G1” in the Matrix / Runout vinyl markings which read:

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some very slight shelf wear - really more just some slight dirtiness on the white cover - and corner softening. Beyond that pretty much perfect. Super solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, cutouts, etc. and would easily rate at least a strong VG+ and maybe EX. The Vinyl is in pristine, Glossy condition looking very lightly played. If you really look closely you can spot a few light scuffs but still very close to New condition. At least EX visually if not NM and plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint. The labels are NM.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
