Description
Before this New York band was called "Disciple", Chris Sheppard (bass), Jon Oliver (guitars), Dennis Lattman (keyboards) and Al Christopher (drums) were playing small clubs as "The Outer Limits". It's unknown if they had any recorded output. Along came Sandy Crespo, a stunning beauty with a strong set of pipes. All five could sing and they were known for their choir like vocals. When they renamed as "Disciple", they got notice. One album was put together and released through Avco/Embassy Records (a label more attuned to TV and the Movies). But, this record label put out some great psychedelic gems (Bead Game, Weight and Liquid Smoke to name a few). The "Disciple" album is a wonderful underrated pop-sike extravaganza. 3 and 4 part harmonies with Sandy at the forefront, slight special effects, fuzz guitar and a garage edge in the same category as "Growing Concern" and "Art Of Lovin". But, the god-awful drawing of the band pictured on the cover soured the public before they had a listen. The album fell off the earth and the band shortly followed. Collectors should be falling over themselves to find this one, it's as rare as hens teeth and Highly Recommended.
The Cover is EX with no flaws except one small drill hole bottom left. The record plays with a few ticks here and there, but overall EX.
