Up for auction is an extremely rare copy of the psych-folk classic Donovan album "The Hurdy Gurdy Man" originally released in the U.S. on Epic Records (BN 26420) in 1968.

Note: These mono pressings are very rare and are vastly superior to the reprocessed stereo pressings.  If you haven't heard this record in Mono, you've never heard Donovan sound to good.
Condition: The cover is in very good condition, with only some moderate signs of wear.  These matte-finish covers were extremely prone to wear, but this one has held up nicely.  A hint of ring wear at top and bottom middle, and along left side; otherwise intact and attractive.  Seams show some color loss from rubbing here and there, a few signs of crazing, but NO splits.  Corners are sharp, but rubbed and a little chipped.  Back cover is also nice with very light ring wear and a little aging along left side.  Overall, though, still a very attractive and presentable cover.  Grade it a strong Very Good Plus (VG+).
The vinyl is in beautiful condition, retaining its original high gloss shine and luster.  No scratches, no scuffs, no extraneous marks.  The white promo labels are clean, with no marks around the spindle holes, indicating little, if any, previous play.  The record probably hasn't been played more than once or twice.
Play-Tested: This record is from my personal collection, and it's been archived, unplayed for the last 30 years.  The sound quality, especially in mono mode, is beautiful, clean, and undistorted.  Donovan sounds like he's right there in the room with you.  Hard to imagine you'll find a nicer original copy of this record.  Grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM).
Note on starting price:  From what I can tell there have been only 3 other copies of this record sold in the last 8 years on eBay.  And the last one that sold wasn't in as nice as condition vinyl-wise as this one!  You will wait a long time before you see another copy.
