Description
DONOVAN/HMS Donovan. Dawn (UK) 2LP set DNLD 4001 stereo. Purple label edition of the classic children's music LP by Donovan Leitch, never released on LP in the States (for whatever silly marketing reasons). A very respectable copy of this title: LPs are M-/EX range: still have their full original gloss and virtually no evidence of handling or use (though I know they have been played some). Nice see-thru burgundy vinyl as was typical from Pye records at this time period. Labels are minty all round. Side 1 did present slight pressing noise between a couple of cuts, which I guess is pretty common with Pye pressings of the early '70s, but this was not enough to disrupt the listening experience. Sleeve is VG+ all round: actually the outside of sleeve probably rates EX: no ring wear or bends, tape, writing or other issues, and has strong seams and a great spine. Inside of gatefold sleeve shows some markings from a sticker or similar that was attached in upper left hand corner, and what I suspect may have been those little stick-on dots along the list of cuts on the right-hand side of gatefold, clearly visible in pics. These issues are not so bad in reality as the photos make them out to be, but they must be pointed out. Inner sleeves are both original and both have some writing on upper left hand corners of one side, but otherwise are VG+. No poster. In short, a great copy that any LP collector would enjoy.
