Doom HEAVY ROCK legends Black Sabbath's sprawling 4 sides 2-record set was released through Vertigo/Warner Brothers in December 1982. The 14 tracks on the album were recorded at two concerts in Seattle and Dallas in May 1982. The band was a powerhouse featuring vocalist Ronnie Jame Dio in the very same lineup that recorded their classoc "Mob Rules" Lp.

The set-list naturally focuses on tracks from the Dio-led Black Sabbath albums, "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules", which were at the time the most recent releases by the band. However, and greatly so, about half the set-list are tracks from the first two albums by the band, which includes tracks like "Iron Man", "War Pigs", "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid". "Children of the Grave" is yet aother track on "Live Evil" from the Ozzy Osbourne-led Black Sabbath albums early albums. Exclusive versions here, greatly differ from the Ozzy led tracks from 10 years before --- turn it up to fully appreciate the impact dynamics!

The musicianship is impeccable as expected. Dio was such a powerful vocalist who may be even better than Ozzy, coupled with devestatig power-chord heavy riffs and the determined to execute playing style of Tony Iommi backed by a electrifying heavy rhythm section of drummer Vinnie Appice and bassist Geezer Butler, interact like a great organic machine.
The album was released as such for good reason; The mighty BLACK SABBATH are on fire caught ALIVE and frozen on four thrilling sides! ....Ozzy who?

This is the first official release of BLACK SABBATH. Although Ozzy will be not missed in this line-up, this is a very classic live album.
