For Auction a classic piece of vinyl history - Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd


This is an original 1973 SHVL804 -1st pressing on the Harvest/EMI record label. It has the gatefold album sleeve in dark blue not solid black as found in later examples.

The inner sleeve is black with poly sleeve.

The vinyl has the solid blue triangle label (very important) and has the Harvest/EMI and The Gramaphone Company Ltd markings also on the label.

The all important matrix numbers are SHVL 804 A-2 and SHVL 804 B-2, which are visible on the run off's on both sides of the vinyl.

This album was recorded between June 1972 and January 1973 at the Abbey Road Studios in London and so it is a piece of rock history.

It comes with both posters and stickers (see photos). The Band poster is original and is marked SHVL804, I'm not sure about the pyramid poster and the stickers, however they are all present.

The vinyl is in excellent condition and plays without any issues at all - sounds fantastic. The inner sleeve is in great condition and has a few age related marks - see photos. The gatefold cover is in great condition and has a few age related marks but nothing that detracts from the fabulous condition of the entire set.

This would be a welcome and valued addition to any vinyl collection. If you know your records then this is a unique opportunity to acquire a classic rock LP.
