DAVID BOWIE - 'THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD'
This is a rare, 100% genuine UK 1st pressing of Bowie's 3rd studio album dating from initial April 1971 release.

The 1st pressing disc is housed within a genuine UK printed textured cover on which Bowie is seen reclining in a "man's dress" designed by British fashion designer Michael Fish.

The cover has a matt/textured finish and is printed on grey card. Bowie's foot is 1cm away from the opening edge and over half the clock face on the mantlepiece is visible above it which indicates that it is the 'real deal'.

The disc carries deep black & silver Mercury label (6338 041) with a circled (P) next to the 1971 date.

A respectable pair with some light spindle trails and a few small, but nothing major.

Visual: VERY GOOD -

Both playing surfaces are clean but do bear a fair amount of light wispy marks consistent with frequent play with the only blemish being a 1cm non-feelable scratch which is on side 1 cat the end of track 1 into the beginning of track 2. Closer inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp just amplifies the aforementioned marks but add no further major faults. I have down-graded from VG due to a slight edgewarp which is visible when side 2 is playing. This does cause the arm to rise and fall slightly but did not cause any jumping or deterioration sound on my system and is not visible when side 1 is playing.

Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +

This cherished copy has been played many times but has not been abused. The sound quality remains impressive and is completely free from any groove/playwear distortion. The only significant distraction during my single careful play-check at volume were some light repeating clicks at the beginning of 'All the Madmen'. Apart form that and a little low-level vinyl background between tracks, there really is little to fault and definitely much more to enjoy.

Cover: VERY GOOD -

There is moderate shelf wear to the lower seam and a 5cm split to the upper seam. There is also a 2cm split midway up the spine, but all of the text is easily readable.

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +

Aside from some age-toning to the paper, this is clean & flat with no writing, seam splits or tears.
