Description

An original 1st press of Ziggy Stardust on UK RCA from summer 1972. Matrix 1E/2E. The labels are consistent with 1st issue as they still retain the 'Titanic' publishing credits which were phased out immediately after the initial chart success in favour of 'Mainman'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover. Please note that 1st issue covers, like this one, do not make reference to 'Mainman' on the rear. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. We will transport in an anti-static inner sleeve for maximum protection. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are mostly silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. These early RCA copies are an absolute treat to behold! This really is a top-level performer all the way through and most certianly one of the best I've ever auditioned. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All we could detect was the odd couple of static crackles in a couple of isolated moments [e.g. just a couple in the low-key run into 'Five Years'. It really is a very very fine copy and one that you'd struggle to even equal.
Cover (Ex) These covers often surface in pretty poor condition so the owner of this particular example has looked after it very carefully indeed. Nice clean front with hardly any of the surface wear that you often find. There's just a couple of thumbnail creases over toward the opening and a small sticker residue mark over in the top left corner [very minor]. The rear looks just as sweet - very little creasing at all. Edge wear is light for this title with just a bit along the bottom edge, and the openings are still sharpish. All text on the spine is still legible  - which again is unusual. All text perfectly legible. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity. A real beauty!
Inner (Ex) No ageing and only a 1c.m. bottom edge split. Superb!
