Description

An original 1st press of STARDUST on UK RCA. Matrix 1E/2E. Labels mention 'Titanic Publishing' - these are the earliest copies. At this point Bowie hadn't quite hit the big time - but STARDUST would change all of this racking up some epic sales over the following year. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original solid card cover without Mainman logo [as per 1st issue]. We also have the original lyric inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete. We'll ship in a poly-lined inner sleeve for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has been very carefully looked after. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side, and a couple of very superficial trails....nothing remotely troublesome. Fully tested - this is an astoundingly well preserved copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCLLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. An absolute stellar performer - what's not to like? With Stardust you need an early copy for the detail and energy - but in those super quiet moments you really need to play clean. And this copy is tremendously well preserved. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard better. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Love it! Struggling to find fault. All I could detect was a few crackles right at the start of 'Lady Stardust' - but it's over in a flash. A top level copy. Highly recommended!
Cover (Ex) Wow, a really well preserved original copy - they don't all look this fine. Nice and flat and uncreased - without surface wear or light fade [impressive!]. Hardly any edge wear and nice sharp firm openings. The spine is 100% intact with all text fully legible [highly unusual]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity - a truly stunning copy.
Inner (Ex) Hardly any ageing [highly unusual]. Only 1 X 2c.m. bottom edge split.
