Description

An original 1st press of STARDUST on UK RCA. Matrix 1E/2E. TITANIC PUBISHING - this is what marks it out as genuine 1st press. Right as Stardust charts - when Bowie is a relative minor artist. That would all turn on its head within weeks... These early copies are very heavy pressed and sound fab. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover WITHOUT reference to MainMan [i.e. a 1st issue]. The original lyric insert is there too. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL>>> So don't miss out...
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) A great looking copy and has only seen relatively light use. A couple of very light marks per side nothing heavy or nasty looking at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT of playback with a couple of minor deviations per side. Nice quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. FIVE YEARS plays clean....that's all you need to know! if you can find this playing clean - you've hit the jackpot...because it rarely plays properly clean and is an indicator of a lightly used copy. Soul Love a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots. THIS IS WHAT IT's ALL ABOUT. The warmth and presence of Bowie at the height of his powers. He was already a genius - but it took Ziggy to really get noticed. This is a historical point where Bowie goes from relative unknown to superstardom in the bat of an eyelid. And this LP with Titanic publishing credit - was right there just as he broke through. Historically significant. But wow - what some audio. You wanna go for a crappy later reissue? Hell, you are seriously missing out. You need to hear it on a clean first - then you are getting the full gamut and it is mesmeric in all aspects. Overall a very impressive player on this collectable early Bowie classic..Do you really wanna miss out? It's not perfect, but hey....It isn't that far off it either. One solitary pop in the gap before 'It Ain't Easy' - eminently forgiveable. A couple of crackles as Lady Stardust starts up and a couple of minor ticks.  A solitary tick in Suffragette. A couple of crackles in a couple of spots in the quieter moments of Suicide. Wow - one of the best copies I've had the pleasure to listen to. Listen to the natural distortion in Mick's guitar licks...the high pitch whines that are usually obscured by background. IT's ALL HERE.<<<
Cover (Ex-) Front and rear are very tidy with much less wear than you typically tend to find. A good bit less edge wear than you typically find - it's in pretty darn fine condition. Spine is 90% intact which is quite unusual. Overall the cover still retains verygood rigidity.
inner (Vg) Some grubby ageing. No splits.
