Description

Here for sale is a UK Edition 1 Columbia SAX 2281 with blue & silver labels:
Schubert Trio No.1 in B flat major D.898 featuring:
David Oistrakh (Violin) Sviatoslav Knushevitsky (Cello) Lev Oborin (Piano)
Please see the photographs a better picture of the overall condition of the item.  The sleeve is in very good clean order and the record has a lovely gloss sheen to both sides. Their are a few feint hairline marks to the surfaces visible against the light, but nothing deep.  The centre labels are clean and unmarked and the record is perfectly flat with central centre hole.
I have play tested the record on an LP12 deck and here are my findings:
Side 1
Plays throughout with moderate surface noise, which is audible mainly in the quieter passages.  Track 2 - one small 'pop' and a light sounding tick for around 10 revolutions, which repeats to a lesser duration later in the track.
Side 2 
Again, plays throughout with moderate surface noise, which is audible mainly in the quieter passages. Track 1 - two small pops towards the end of the track.
The overall experience for me, bearing in mind the age of the record is that the character and sensitivity of the playing from all the musicians still shines through.  I can see why this is a sought after recording.
The record has been cleaned on a Moth Pro record cleaner and has been placed in a new anti-static inner sleeve but the original sleeve is of course also included in the sale.
