Description

I bought this box set in a charity shop where no mention was made of the signatures and I examined only the discs.  It was when I got home that I discovered the signatures on the inside cover of the libretto. The signatures clockwise from bottom right appear to be:

• Luciano Pavarotti 76 (in red)
• Mirella Freni (in blue)
• Unknown (in purple) 
• N Ghiaurov (in blue)
• Joan Sutherland (in purple)
• Sherrill Milnes (in black)

The ink in several of the felt-tips used appears to be running out.  Mirella Freni does not feature on the recording and yet her signature is present. Possibly the original owner got these signatures at a live performance where Freni was Sutherland's understudy?  I'm no expert, but the signatures do not seem to have been over-printed by a machine - if they had been, why would the perpetrator have included Freni's signature?  From what I can glean from my research, they seem to be authentic, but obviously I cannot certify them as genuine.
