Description

An original 1st press of Fireball on UK Harvest label from '71. Matrix 2/3 - 1st cut. Etching 'PEK'. Note the labels mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text - which is indicative of 1st issue. Well worth going for the earliest copies - they were pressed on lovely chunky heavy vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original fully textured gatefold cover [inside+out]. We also have the original insert and the Harvest advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In marvellous condition and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. One thing is for certain - you'll never find a better playing copy....period! This one is literally perfect. That can only happen with it having seen very slight use and, effectively, being archived for the best part of its fifty year life span. Needless to say - a copy like this is going to sound absolutely amazingly particularly given George Peckham did the mastering. It hammers out the riffs with terrific energy. But even better - it can deliver those quieter moody moments with deft and poise. E.g. FOOLS..etc. You want a clean background - you've got it HERE! <<<FINAL UPGRADE>.
Cover (Vg+) You can find better looking covers - but this example is true 1st and still in very respectable condition. remember - textured inside and out. A bit of surface wear in places front and back - as is difficult to avoid entirely. The interior looks superb - no issues. Now, this copy does exhibit a good bit of edge wear - as it very typical on this title. However, someone has tidied it up considerably with black ink - it looks much tidier to the eye now. The only downside is the spine. It is a bit worn in the midsection. Consequently - don't be expecting to make out any of the text. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Insert  (Vg+) A touch of light ageing. But pretty tidy.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
