Description
A very 1st press of 'Made In Japan' on the Purple label from 1972. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Etchings Peckie/Delta Pork/Porkie. Please note the perimeter text on the labels mentions 'Gramophone' - indicative of 1st issue. Stampers 1-OR/2-GH/ XXXXXX. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included are both original inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In stunning condition and have clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. MIJ is an absolute classic and you really shouldn't short change yourself with anything other than a top quality early pressing. This copy really does it justice - top level reproduction and amazing detail [And it's live!]. Interference is practically non-existent. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Even 'Child In Time' plays very clean...and that is a difficult find. Definitely the best rendition of this classic I've ever experienced....
Cover (Ex+) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. Nice shiny front and back with no wear noticeable at all. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is super light even the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity - this is pretty much as good as it gets.
Inners (Ex) Superb - no splits.
