Description
This auction is for:
Depeche Mode - Everything Counts - German 2 track clear vinyl 12" - cat # INT 126.813
Condition: USED
COVER:
Serious flaws include an approx 2 cm seam-split at the bottom, where the cover has almost worn through, and there is the beginning of an approx 2.5 cm seam-split along the spine. There is a small but visible dent to the bottom left corner. Otherwise, the cover shows normal signs of aging and wear including creasing in several places along the spine, smudging, marking, and scratches. The opening itself still looks fairly good, with only minimal dents in places. The cover is missing the blue "Platte im farbigen Vinyl" sticker. Despite such defects, the laminated cover still retains much of its shine and is fully functional. The cover grades overall as 5 out of 10, mainly because of the seam-splits that are in evidence. Average condition, with flaws as noted above, yet still acceptable.
RECORD:
Visually, when examined under bright light, there is every sign that this is a well-played copy. Several markings and scratches can be seen in the "dead wax", and along the outer edge of the record. There are also spindle marks on the labels. Both sides play right through, but with more or less continuous moderate surface noise (mostly static or crackle; there is also a 'click' or two that I picked up on "Work Hard", and a light 'pop' on "Everything Counts"). Surface noise is occasionally more noticeable, also at the start of play, and in the quieter passages (for example, as "Everything Counts" starts to wind down.) While surface noise is present - and sometimes more noticeably so - this does not overwhelm the music and make the record unlistenable or unenjoyable. If you are a fussy collector and require a perfect copy of this record, please do not bid. This copy is suitable, however, for collectors who are aiming to complete their colour vinyl collection (these mixes being readily available on the other black vinyl 12" releases), and possibly also for collectors looking for a spare copy of this release to play to death. Visually, the record is a beautiful item, but because it is a well-played copy, with traces of more or less continuous moderate surface noise in the sound field (mostly crackle or static), I can only grade it as 4 out of 10 at best.
Please note:
1. All items are from my personal collection and are sold AS IS - no returns or refunds. Please do not bid if you do not agree to this.
2. No shipping costs to buyer (shipping is included in the starting price.) Shipping is via Registered Airmail and I will confirm the Registered Airmail parcel number for your parcel once it has shipped. I keep all postage receipts.
3. All records will be well packaged, with the vinyl placed securely outside the cover (inside protective plastic sleeve) so as to prevent seam-splits.
