Description

An original 1st press of D&D Layla on the UK Polydor label from 1970. Matrix A1/B2/A1/B2 - very 1st cut. The very earliest copies of D&D exhibit a publishing credit that was changed on ALL later pressings. On side 3 track 3 - publishing is creditted to "Peter Maurice" ALL later copies will mention 'LARK MUSIC'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill gatefold cover. Please note the cover is genuine 1st issue without any Polydor logo on the front to spoil the artwork. 
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one very minor deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A beautiful clean rendition with very little to find fault with. Interference is borderline non-existent. All I could detect were a few crackles in "I Am Yours" - as is very common. A fantastic player which just keeps churning out great audio from start to finish.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been cared for down the years. Very nice clean front with nothing worse than a couple of minor indentations. The rear looks good too with some of the usual surface wear you tend to typically find, and a couple of creases too. The interior is immaculate - no issues at all. There's edge wear, but nothing epic. The spine exhibits a bit of wear too, but the text is just about all still legible. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
