Thick vinyl pressing on Blue Note Records, catalog #4112, mono. Has the "BLUE NOTE RECORDS NEW YORK USA" address on the label and "RVG STEREO" and the little "ear" stamped in the dead wax. Made in USA.
The has one half-inch needle scratch and some light surface scuffing, but they do not affect play very noticeably, very little in the way of extraneous noises, the music is loud and clear, a great pressing makes for a great sounding record! It plays very close to near mint. The cover has no ringwear on the laminated front, light ringwear on the back paste-on which also has some age spotting, the spine and seams are fine, just some real light corner wear.

Dexter Gordon considered this his finest album and few would disagree. With the perfect rhythm section of Sonny Clark, Butch Warren and Billy Higgins, this tenor giant reinvents standards like "Three O'Clock In The Morning," "Second Balcony Jump" and "Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out To Dry" and introduces his most famous composition "Cheese Cake."
During the first half of the the sixties, Dexter Gordon cut half-a-dozen classic LP's for Blue Note, of which Go! is probably the most essential and also happened to be Gordon's personal favorite (the man had taste). Having the superb pianist Sonny Clark and equally adept drummer Billy Higgins aboard certainly helped; along with bassist Butch Warren, this quartet clicked in a major way. Every note has that feeling of ineffable rightness; Gordon's unmistakeable foghorn tone never sounded so majestic and swinging. Gordon's tenor could take a fast tune and tease it, prod it, tug at it, and finally twirl it in the air like a baton; or it could insinuate itself into a ballad with a caress like velvet-covered steel. The musical quotes that punctuate his solos (such as a bit of "Take me Out To the Ballgame" in the last track) manage to sound funny and apposite and musically inevitable. Don't ask me how he does it. All of the albums that Gordon recorded for Blue Note are well worth your time and money, but if you get only one, get this.
