This is the 1966 Vanguard second issue of the original

1964 release, with the light Gold label.  Discogs shows a

matrix number sequence stamped in the runout wax,

with a "1B" suffix on Side A & B.

This pressing, however, is actually from the first mastering

cut, with the "1A" suffix after the full matrix sequence.

It is a much rarer edition of the second issue and the

outstanding definition of this LP illustrates that.

LP: (Graded) Near Mint, according to Goldmine record grading definitions. This record grades as an LP that appears to either have been just opened or possibly handled or played once only in the most cautious manner possible. Side One is Near Mint Plus.  Side Two has a couple of tangential scuffs that only lay across the surface and have zero effect on tracking or playback (please see Play Grade testing details below for performance attributes).  The plating surface is pristine with as new glossiness. What small degree of visible spindle trails on labels is faintly detectable. The LP is exceptionally clean and turntable ready.

Play Grade: Near Mint Plus / Mint Minus

- this pressing is spectacular sounding - detail, imaging, dynamics and stereo separation. The quietness of digital and the richness of analog. The absence of surface noise both during and between tracks, rivals Compact Disc quietness, which is particularly important with a recording such as this with various passages that are acoustic and sparsely accompanied. Rates a 9.8 minimum on the below scale, both during and between musical selections. Some of the purest vinyl I have come across on a Vanguard pressing and a great pressing run:

Cover: (Graded) Near Mint Plus - still covered by shrinkwrap, but it is pulling loose somewhat. All solid seams and fully legible spine printing. Retains original issue innersleeve.  I will place the cover in an outer sleeve to preserve the shrinkwrap in its current state.
