Description

Dominique Lawalree is one of music's best kept secrets.  A composition teacher at a university in Brussels, over the years he has released a handful of amazing titles through his own private label (Walrus Records), each one different from the other.  His music easily reminds me of a modern Eric Satie, both beautiful and melancholy, but you can also hear other influences as well, such as Brian Eno, Cluster, even early Genesis.  He even wrote a history of The Beatles.  And speaking of Eno, Lawalree used Eno's "Oblique Strategies" card set for a number of his own compositions.  "Traces" is unique in that this is almost entirely electronic, rather than mostly piano.  This comes with the original 2 page insert which describes each piece (in French, but hey, we all love a challenge.)  This title is amazingly difficult to find, especially in this condition!
Dominique Lawalree "Traces".
Walrus Records W.L.S. 004.
Condition Vinyl:  NM (Only played several times, and carefully at that!)
Condition Jacket:  NM (Clean, crisp, bright and solid, with no seam splits and a straight spine; its sole fault is some very mild ring wear, which is exaggerated in the photograph.  A Totally Lovely Copy of a Rare and Desirable Title!)
