Doug Watkins Quintet featuring Yusef Lateef  ' Soulnik '  NEW JAZZ NJLP 8238 (USA) mono purple label - rec. on May 1960 - issued in 1960 - on trail-off (dead wax) has 'RVG' for Rudy Van Gelder     Doug Watkins : cello - Yusef Lateef : flute, oboe - Hugh Lawson : piano - Herman Wright : bass - Lex Humphries : drums    Side A : One guy (Lateef) - I'm confessin' (Neiburg-Dougherty) - Soulnik (Lateef)  Side B : Andre's bag (Watkins) - I remember you (Mercer-Schertzinger) - Imagination (Van Heusen)   Visual grading : record is VG+ full lustre has light wear. Has an unfeelable evident scuff on first track of side A. Clean labels with several spindle wear  Playing grading : record is VG- plays fairly well with loud and clear sound. Has some light occasional background noise in quieter parts (i.e. cello and bass solos). Also has some light occasional ticks. Last track of side B has continuous light rustling and a couple of pops Cover grading : cover is VG- has wear to corners, edges and to spine. Has pieces of transparent tape on the corners and in the middle of top edge. Also a piece ot transparent tape in the middle of spine. Back cover has a piece of slick missing on bottom left corner and a short pen's line over a title of one song
