Description

  • As close to mint as you will find 1956 deep groove mono original Bethlehem 12” LP “Duke Ellington Presents” (Bethlehem BCP-6006).
  • This great LP features eleven great tracks recorded in 1956 with some top jazz musicians including Johnny Hodges, Paul Gonsalves, Russell Procope, Jimmie Hamilton, Harry Carney, “Cat” Anderson, Clark Terry, Jimmy Grissom, Jimmy Woode, Sam Woodyard and Duke on piano.
  • The tracklist (including 4 Ellington originals) is: Summertime/Laura/I Can’t Get Started/My Funny Valentine/Everything But You/Frustration/Cotton Tail/Day Dream/Deep Purple/Indian Summer/Blues.
  • The playback is crisp and clear and the best I have ever heard on a Bethlehem LP. I do not rate opened LPs as mint so I’ll call it mint minus. The beautiful glossy cover is also near mint with no splits, tears, writing or cutouts.
