Description

Up for auction is an incredibly rare, museum-quality piece of recorded sound history: an original E. Berliner’s Gramophone 7-inch single-sided disc record. Dating from the mid-to-late 1890s, this is one of the earliest commercial flat-disc records ever manufactured, predating the 20th century and the widespread adoption of shellac.Instead of a traditional paper label, the title, artist, and patents are beautifully embossed and etched directly into the dark vulcanite/hard rubber material.Disc Details:Manufacturer: E.
