Description

I am parting with some of my treasured LPs.  Here's an amazing first press record from 1969 Cat # BTS 12.  The great EARL HOOKER, one of the greatest guitarists of his time, hands down!  Jimmy Page was a big fan, and made sure to buy a double neck guitar like the one EARL had on the cover of his LP Two Bugs and a Rug.  And Jimmy was too happy to record YOU SHOOK ME which was an original guitar driven number by Hooker, and taken by the Chess Brothers to give Muddy Waters a big hit.  They brought in Willie Dixon to change it up, and he wound up with the songwriting credit, but it was Earl Hookers great guitar driven number that attracted Page.  Hooker also suffered from various health issues in his life, and there were other factors that contributed to him not being recognized for his incredible guitar work.  Here, he is on the beautiful BLUE THUMB label, and being produced by IKE TURNER, who is doing some very funky work of his own at the time.  This is a great collaboration between the two, as Hooker wouldn't have recorded like this without Turner.  It's an amazing LP that I play all the time.
The LP is in beautiful MINT condition with full shine, and plays great.  Basically as new, with not a minor blip to be found anywhere.  The cover is beautiful, but has very minor corner bumps, the worst of which is lower left. There is a PROMO hole in top left, and the LP is remarkably a WHITE LABEL PROMO, pressed before the first run.  An overall great copy that plays awesomely as new.

I love original original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me.  PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY.  I AM POSTING SOME TREASURES.  SOME ARE RARE AND COLLECTIBLE, AND OTHERS ARE JUST GREAT ALBUMS LIKE THIS ONE IS.
