This is the extremely rare and only LP ever recording by the much under-rated, experimental folk/psych group, ECLECTION released in 1968. THIS IS A GREAT RARITY ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.
This is the stereo version in EXCELLENT++ condition. The band featured superb arrangements of original material by the band members and is probably the best UK example of West Coast influenced psychedelic folk from the late '60's. If you know the Fairports first LP you will be surprised at how the stylings of that LP are taken to another level on this album. A truly inspirational sound featuring Kerrilee Male and Michael Rosen's great vocals. But this sound was beginning to date by mid-1968 as a less ethereal, more rock-orientated and essentially traditional folk sound re-emerged. This LP did not sell well and the band imploded. It was not surprising that Trevor Lucas left eventually to join Fairport Convention where he hooked up with Sandy Denny both in the Fotheringay group and on a personal level. And of course many people have criticised his role in her decline but this glorios LP was recorded before the tragedy took over and represents a sublime moment in the UK folk/psych movement.
The VINYL grades at EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT visually (see photos) and plays with only the occasional unobtrusive static-type crackle mainly on the run-in, grading the sound EXCELLENT, if not better. It has the first press matices A2, B2.
The orange and silver ELECTRA LABELS are pristine with no wear or marks at all. They feature the Eclection logo - a feature often used by Electra in its great attention to detail. They must grade NEAR MINT.
The GATEFOLD COVER is EXCELLENT with only some laminate creasing on the back to reduce the grade.
