Description
Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "The Morse Code" - by Ella Mae Morse on the original aqua Capitol Record label (T 898), in beautiful original monaural sound, issued in 1957.
CONDITION: JACKET - VG+(Jacket has moderate edge/corner wear, including a split across half the top seam from the opening; front cover has "75" in marker (Note: I have used isopropyl alcohol to carefully remove the number and cause no damage; there is a tiny black line on the mic boom, but I cannot see any ink remaining on top of the image and therefore believe that tiny line is part of the original photo); back cover has sticker scraping at top center; jacket has overall light age wear - please see actual album in photos); VINYL - VG+(Vinyl is beautiful with a few very light scuffs; this is a conservative grade - visually graded under special daylight balanced spotlight).
SPECIAL FEATURES: Rare original monaural copy of one of the finest easy/blues female vocals of the '50s, released by Ella Mae Morse on the Capitol label, conducted by Billy May; great liner notes and more photos on the back; NOTE: this is the original aqua label and includes original Capitol inner sleeve; both vinyl and jacket are made from high quality stock, but it's the amazing sound of Ella Mae and Billy May conspiring on these great compositions that will kill ya; if you enjoy music that comes from the very heart of '50s big band blues, then please don't miss this one - a great record at a fair price.
TRACKS:Day In Day Out, My Funny Valentine, Ac cent tchu ate the Positive, When My Sugar Walks Down the Street, Dream a Little Dream of Me, Heart and Soul, Jersey Bounce, I Can't Get Started, Baby Won't You Please Come Home, You Go to My Head, Music Maestro Please!, and I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter. Thanks! If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck.
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
