She was a blind gospel singer, songwriter and pianist in Kennett, Missouri. 

( 1933 – 1997 )

She is THE ORIGINAL songwriter of the Southern Gospel song, "In My Father's House (Are Many Mansions)".

Wikipedia  is INCORRECT . Aileen Hanks composed the lyrics and music of this gospel song and SHE originally introduced this song on this record before anyone else. 

Not The Blackwood Brothers Quartet nor Wally Fowler and The Oak Ridge Quartet.

Since then, there have been 11 other artists that have sung her song. The most famous was Elvis Presley in 1960.

 

This is her Original First 78 recording of the song. It’s her singing and playing the piano.
