RCA VICTOR- LPM 1254
Original 1st pressing mono LP with 'long play' on the label and the 'P.D.' publishing credit on the track "Just Because"

Up for auction is an extremely nice example of Elvis Presley first USA LP on RCA Victor. This is a guaranteed, first day of release issue with the rare 'P.D.' credit on the track "Just Because." Most copies credit the track correctly to "Bob Shelton-Joe Shelton-Sid Robin" however, first run copies feature the erroneous 'P.D.' credit. The matrix numbers are G2 PP1283-1S, G2 PP1282-3S. Any collector of 1950's rock 'n roll knows how EXTREMELY difficult it is to find these early Elvis LP's in anything close to collectable condition. Most are trashed with many scuffs, scratches and tattered covers. This copy is in highly collectable condition and is close to NM! Most copies of this LP on ebay that are advertised as NM would actually grade VG at best by professional standards. I guarantee that serious collectors will be thrilled with the condition of this LP. Don't miss your chance to own a true first pressing in stunning condition, maybe the best you will ever see! I have seen copies of this LP go for $300 in other auctions and my reserve is less than a third of that amount.
CONDITION
COVER- The cover grades a solid VG++ condition with no writing, ringwear, seamspilts, tears, or any other significant issues. All colors and bright and vibrant, and the back is still very clean with only minor age yellowing. The spine is solid with no splits or cracking. The only flaws (if you could call it that) would be an old 50's store sticker at the top of the back cover that reads "Hayes Record Shop," and a small area of discoloration in the bottom lefthand corner of the back cover (not visible on the front). This is really a beautiful example!
VINYL- The disc grades a strong VG++ overall with no scratches or feelable marks of any kind. In normal light 2-3 very light, non feelable styllus marks are visible on each side, and under a very bright halogen lamp a few whispy sleeve lines are visible, but you have to be looking closely to see them. This is truly the cleanest copy I have seen in many years of collecting. If you have been looking for a clean copy of this LP, this one is for you. It is really beautiful!
LABELS- The labels NM- with no writing or wear to speak of, and a few spindle lines.
INNERSLEEVE- Original early RCA innersleeve in nice condition.
