"MILKCOW BLUES BOOGIE"/"YOU'RE A HEARTBREAKER" SUN 215
Elvis Presley 45rpm Sun Record #215 "Milkcow Blues Boogie"/"You're a Heartbreaker". (Original—not a repro!).
Certainly has been played, but still in Very Good condition WITH Push Marks which stem from the so-called stampers, the metal plates used when manufacturing the records. When one checks early Sun 45rpm releases one by one it's easy to note that many—but not all—have push marks. Why is that? Based on some of Sam Phillips' correspondence with the companies that made the stampers, it shows the Sun releases that were anticipated to only have limited commercial success were done in small quantities—often in increments of 500—locally in Memphis. Those pressings always have the so-called push marks.
You can see the marks on the left side of "You're a Heartbreaker" (just under the BMI) and on the right side of "Milkcow Blues Boogie" (just to the left of "Vocal -140").
Note: This the very same record I listed a month ago. I cancelled the sale on it due to a foreign buyer who was slow and difficult to work with.
