Description

Hello and welcome to my auction for this original piece of Rock 'N Roll history.

Up for grabs is this original 1956 first pressing of Elvis's debut Album "Rock 'N Roll"

This is a great album with classic tracks like:

Blue suede shoes,That's alright (mamma) Lawdy,Miss Clawdy, and the classic shake rattle and roll.

Condition:

The vinyl has lots of marks to the surface and a few hair line scratches that but nothing too deep. (Please see pictures)

The record plays with surface noise and crackles throughout but is not that intrusive and gets lost in the music

if you would like a video clip please contact me and I can provide you with this.

This record is flat and plays through without sticks or jumps

And in my opinion it is in great shape for a record that's 61 years old.

Labels:

Both labels side one and two are in fantastic condition with minimal wear deep red burgundy background's with gold HMV lettering and the famous nipper HMV dog with gramophone.

The labels do have spindle marks but they can only be seen when held and turned to the light.

The spindle hole is perfect and true.

Matrix and stampers :

Side 1 : 2XAV 255-IN also a number 1 and the letters GA stamped into the dead wax.

Also side one has the raised tax code RT to either side of the spindle hole.

Side 2 : 2XAV 256-IN also the numbers 1 and 2 and the letters GM stamped into the dead wax.

Sleeve:

Unfortunately the sleeve for this record is long gone and being that they were made of very thin card most have been destroyed and lost to the sands of time.

All in all a great record that has surface marks and plays with crackle throughout but for a 61 year old record it's in great playable shape.

Sound is strong and punchy with no groove hiss.

why not make me an offer I can't refuse ????????

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find copy's of this record as they are so old and from a time when people took their own records to parties to play and dance to so most are heavily played with deep scratches warps and people's names written over the label's.

I have always loved finding records especially ones this old as they are from another time and always wonder the story's they could tell.

If you have any questions please contact me and I will do my very best to get back to you ASAP.

I am having a sort out of my massive vinyl collection so please check out my other listings as new items will be added daily.

Uk bidders only please.

Good luck and don't miss out on this great record.
